The 2009 US Proof set was released by the mint on June 1st and it contains an example of each of the new cents from the San Francisco mint. The coins are proofs and they are made of 95% copper. The new proof sets are in very high demand and are expected to sell out at the mint before the end of the summer. As an investment I would suggest you get your hands on a proof set or two.

During Lincoln’s professional years in Illinois he was able to build himself up as a successful lawyer and would eventually become a member of the US House. He would secure his nomination for president in 1860 and win the election later that year. This design of the 2009 cent depicts this transformation to power.

While in Indiana Lincoln taught himself to read while learning the value of honest work. Lincolns mother passed away in 1818 and Lincoln was deeply depressed by this. He continued to read and work had as his mother encouraged him to do and these year would sculpt Lincoln into the fine leader he was.
